A warm welcome to the Council website, a platform created to give you, our valued and esteemed public the opportunity to interact with us, as well as to ensure that information on services and opportunities available in is made available and easily accessible by you the general public.
Mpika is one of the 8 districts in Muchinga Province of the Republic of Zambia. The district was founded in 1901 and was administered through a sub-center that was set up at Makanga’s Village on the banks of the lwitikila river. However, owing to security challenges the Sub-center was then moved to the location now known as Mpika Boma chosen for its convenient rise and location that was protected by a high range of hills. Mpika was one of the largest District in Zambia with land size of 41,000 square kilometers not until in 2017 when Kanchibiya and Lavushimanda were created out of it and now the district stands land size 17,166.67 Square Kilometer.Readmore
